Xiaomi presents this router almost like a flagship, complete with a polished landing page (see it here).
The Xiaomi AX3000T has an attractive design and strong specifications for its price, and it is highly regarded by Chinese users.

II.3 U-Boot Mod by hanwckf

Back up the system partitions before making changes.

The only major drawback of U-Boot Mod is that stock manufacturer firmware cannot be upgraded through the web interface; it must be flashed from U-Boot Mod.

This U-Boot Mod can boot stock ROM without returning to the original bootloader.

Basic procedure:

Download the latest release. The archive contains mt7981_ax3000t-fip-fixed-parts-multi-layout.bin.
Enable AX3000T SSH using this guide.
Log in over SSH and use SCP to copy mt7981_ax3000t-fip-fixed-parts-multi-layout.bin to the router’s /tmp directory.
Flash U-Boot Mod:

# Check file integrity
  md5sum /tmp/mt7981_ax3000t-fip-fixed-parts-multi-layout.bin
  # Write to the FIP partition
  mtd write /tmp/mt7981_ax3000t-fip-fixed-parts-multi-layout.bin FIP
  # Verify again
  mtd verify /tmp/mt7981_ax3000t-fip-fixed-parts-multi-layout.bin FIP

Entering U-Boot Mod is similar to Xiaomi recovery mode: unplug the router, hold reset, reconnect power, wait about 10 seconds, set the PC to 192.168.31.100, and open 192.168.31.1.

III. Hardware Teardown & Revision Differences

Important hardware warning for OpenWrt enthusiasts: Xiaomi has officially phased out the initial MediaTek Filogic 820 version. Newly purchased AX3000T units in circulation have switched to the Qualcomm IPQ5018 processor (while keeping the identical model code RD03). This Qualcomm revision currently cannot be flashed with OpenWrt, Custom ROMs, or U-Boot Mod.
