ACWiFi opened the MIMC D5S2TX, an unusual switch with five 2.5G ports and two 10G SFP+ slots. I treat the findings as observations from one unit rather than a promise about every production batch.1
Chassis and power
The chassis is approximately 197x75mm and uses a 12V/1A adapter. ACWiFi measured about 1.9 W with no network cable and 2.9 W with two 2.5G links. A physical switch selects Standard mode or Port Isolation mode; the chassis also has a grounding terminal and wall-mount holes.
PCB and power circuitry
The board is notable for its solid capacitors. The synchronous buck stage uses a TD1720 with two NP4406 MOSFETs. The rear of the board carries a 16 MB W25Q128JVSQ flash chip, and the heatsink uses a thermal pad that should be easier to remove than adhesive thermal material.
Switching silicon
The main switch is an MxL86252S. The source says it supports five 2.5G PHYs and two 10G interfaces in USXGMII or XFI form. The chip name alone does not prove that the firmware exposes every management feature, so I verify the management UI and SFP+ transceiver compatibility before buying for VLANs or optical uplinks.
What it means in practice
The unit cost under roughly 105 yuan when ACWiFi purchased it. Compared with a “4+2” design it adds a 2.5G port, and compared with “5+1” it adds one more 10G SFP+ slot. That is attractive when I need a 10G optical uplink and several 2.5G branches, but price, the one-year warranty mentioned by the source, and firmware can vary by seller.
Solid capacitors do not automatically guarantee lower temperature or longer life in every environment. I still check thermals, the 12V supply, isolation behavior, and configuration backup before putting it on the main network.
Teardown limits
The source is not a complete throughput, SFP+ compatibility, or long-term endurance test. I do not infer OpenWrt support or Layer 3 features from PCB photographs alone.
